We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.</div><div><br></div><div> <h3>About The Role: </h3> </div> <div>Hermeus is seeking talented students to join our Manufacture Engineering team in Los Angeles<span style="font-size: 16px;"> </span>to support improvement initiatives to expand in-house manufacturing capabilities and contribute to the design, build, and testing of flight and critical ground support hardware.</div> <div> <div> </div> <div>Fall: Around 16 weeks (August - December)</div> </div><h3>Responsibilities:</h3> <li>Evaluate designs for manufacturability and testing, providing feedback to design team </li> <li>Design and implement tooling and test solutions where appropriate, to support component build and delivery </li> <li>Develop new processes and procedures to support flight hardware builds </li> <li>Manage projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively and proactively communicating with stakeholders </li> <li>Provide data-driven solutions to technical issues encountered during build </li> <li>Actively interface with technician and engineering teams to resolve product non-conformances and keep build on schedule </li> <li>Develop and refine floor layouts </li> <li>Support capacity modelling and time studies to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement </li> <li>Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve large-scale and widespread production challenges </li> <h3>Requirements:</h3> <li>Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects.</li> <li>Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).</li> <li>Strong interest in vehicle hardware.</li> <li>Strong understanding of engineering first principles.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams.</li> <li>Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>GPA of 3.0 or above.</li>
