Accounting Manager

We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.</div><div><br></div><div> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to own the monthly close process, financial reporting, and technical accounting for a fast-growing business. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role suited to someone who thrives in ambiguity, can build scalable processes from scratch, and is comfortable operating without a fully mature back office. You'll be hands-on with the details and trusted with real ownership — partnering closely with our Controller, FP&amp;A, and Operations teams to keep our books accurate and our processes scaling with the business.</p> </div><h3>Responsibilities:</h3><div> <ul type="disc"> <li>Own and continuously improve the monthly and quarterly close process end to end, driving toward a shorter close calendar</li> <li>Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP</li> <li>Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing for our manufacturing operations</li> <li>Research and memo technical accounting positions (ex. ASC606, ASC842, ASC470, ASC718)</li> <li>Partner with external auditors and support internal controls as we mature</li> <li>Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities</li> <li>Support ad hoc projects and analyses that support company-wide decisions</li> </ul></div><h3>Requirements:</h3><div> <ul type="disc"> <li>6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including manufacturing or industrial environments</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field</li> <li>Strong US GAAP knowledge, especially revenue recognition, leases, and cost accounting</li> <li>A track record of owning full-cycle close and financial reporting</li> <li>Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment where you'll help define the process</li> <li>Experience with various financial systems such as Office, Netsuite, Ramp, FloQast, etc.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills cross functionally being able to translate accounting to the business</li> </ul></div><h3>Preferred Skills and Experience:</h3><div> <ul type="disc"> <li>CPA (active or in progress)</li> <li>Experience with government contractors (FAR/DFARS, CAS, DCAA)</li> <li>Big 4 or mid-tier audit background</li> </ul></div>
