Astranis designs, builds, and operates its satellites out of its 153,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Northern California, USA.</p></div><p><strong>Facilities Engineer </strong></p> <p>As a Facilities Engineer at Astranis, you will be responsible for the design, modification, and maintenance of existing and new facilities infrastructure here at historic Pier 70 in San Francisco. </p> <p><strong>Role</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of facility infrastructure supporting spacecraft manufacturing, including HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, liquid nitrogen, process cooling water, and other building utility systems.</li> <li>Lead capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning, including facility expansions, equipment installations, infrastructure upgrades, contractor coordination, budgeting, and schedule management.</li> <li>Partner with Manufacturing, Environmental Test, and various other teams to build out the factory in a scalable way.</li> <li>Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for facility systems utilizing a <span class="inline-comment-marker" data-ref="6804d2bd-8a25-4b02-ba23-7680ad119730">CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)</span>, driving improvements in equipment uptime, asset lifecycle, and maintenance efficiency.</li> <li><span class="inline-comment-marker" data-ref="a7a36f45-ea57-4e25-8c53-8bf037728aa8">Implement and monitor</span> facility performance metrics, including energy usage, utility capacity, equipment reliability, and maintenance targets, identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.</li> <li>Create and maintain engineering documentation, including utility layouts, standard operating procedures, infrastructure specifications, as-built drawings, and equipment records to support long-term facility operations.</li> <li>Own the factory-wide master layout.</li> <li>Manage outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants for large infrastructure projects.</li> <li>Maintain Environmental Health &amp; Safety compliance with OSHA, NFPA, environmental regulations, and internal safety requirements.</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase the reliability, maintainability, and scalability of Astranis' manufacturing facilities to support rapid production growth.</li> <li>Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; perform root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.</li> <li>Oversee hazardous waste programs, including storage, handling, transportation, and disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent technical degree.</li> <li>3+ years of experience working as a Facilities Engineer in a manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Knowledge of and the ability to execute large infrastructure upgrades, including HVAC, plumbing, and/or electrical systems.</li> <li>Strong organizational and structured project management skills.</li> <li>Must be onsite 5 days a week.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Bonus</strong></p> <ul> <li><span class="inline-comment-marker" data-ref="fda438c7-b780-4639-815f-15ee357b1f30">Experience designing and building cleanrooms. </span></li> <li>Experience designing factory infrastructure for aerospace or equivalent industries.</li> <li>Design experience using AutoCAD or equivalent software.</li> <li>Experience programming and operating digital Building Management Systems (BMS).</li> <li>Prior experience implementing a new CMMS.</li> <li>Experience managing an Environmental Health &amp; Safety (EHS) program.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><div><strong>What we offer: </strong></div> <div> </div> <div>All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits.</div> <div> </div> <div> <p data-path-to-node="3">Base pay is just one component of Astranis’s total rewards package.
