If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.</p></div><p>Vast is looking for a Receiving Quality Inspector (2nd shift), reporting to Senior Manager, Quality, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location. </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Performs dimensional and visual inspections using basic equipment and established procedures with minimum supervision of a higher inspector or supervisor </li> <li>Review all supplied documentation for hardware acceptance per engineering requirements and document, track, and complete discrepancy reports</li> <li>Perform review of first articles and conduct receiving inspections</li> <li>Provide feedback to engineers and buyers with dimensional data</li> <li>Assist with maintaining and tracking all inspection equipment calibrations</li> <li>Generate and perform Verification activities on Non-Conforming Material Reports</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 3 years of experience in receiving inspection or a related quality inspection role for aerospace components</li> <li>Ability to read, interpret, and work to blueprints, drawings, and process and design specifications</li> <li>Experience performing First Article Inspections and Source Inspections</li> <li>Experience performing visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspection of hardware to applicable workmanship and acceptance standards</li> <li>Experience using hand tools, gages, and portable measuring equipment to verify dimensional and functional conformance</li> <li>Ability to perform detailed receiving, in-process, and final inspections on flight hardware across a range of commodities, including mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic parts</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred Skills & Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School or equivalent diploma</li> <li>Must be dedicated to the quality function and possess a drive to enhance the quality of both the product and processes</li> <li>Must have computer skills including the use of MS Suite and an ability to be comfortable using ERP / MRP applications</li> <li>Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment</li> <li>Ability to make independent judgments with limited information</li> <li>Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers</li> <li>Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones</li> <li>Physical requirements include frequent and repetitive use of hands; ability to push, pull or lift up to 35 pounds; vision acuity 20/25 (with or without corrective lenses)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Pay Range: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Receiving Quality Inspector II: $28 - $40</li> <li>Receiving Quality Inspector III: $29 - $42</li> <li>Senior Receiving Quality Inspector : $37 - $53</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range: California</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$28</span><span class="divider">—</span><span>$53 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p style="line-height: 1;"><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS<br></strong><br>Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
