The Accounting team owns the close, technical accounting, and reporting infrastructure behind one of the fastest-scaling companies in defense. This is a build seat more than a maintain seat: we are preparing for a future potential IPO, expanding rapidly, and integrating acquired businesses, so you will set the processes, systems, and controls this function runs on for years. </p> <h3>ABOUT THE JOB</h3> <p>The ideal candidate will be able to support the hyper growth of our business and will therefore need to be comfortable and experienced moving at an incredibly fast pace. Come join us as we disrupt an entire industry and help take your career to the next level with a team that is charging towards changing the world of defense.</p> <h4>WHAT YOU’LL DO</h4> <ul> <li><strong>Long-Lived Asset Ownership:</strong> Own the accounting for Anduril’s long-lived assets end to end — property, plant, and equipment, leases, and intangibles — including the fixed asset and lease subledgers, depreciation and amortization, additions, transfers, disposals, and monthly roll-forwards.</li> <li><strong>Capitalization Policy: </strong>Serve as the primary liaison between the business and Anduril’s capitalization policy — advising program, engineering, and operations teams on capitalize-versus-expense treatment, reviewing capital spend requests for policy compliance, and keeping the policy current as the business scales.</li> <li><strong>Team Leadership:</strong> Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, setting priorities, reviewing work, and building bench strength as the asset base scales.</li> <li><strong>Government Grants:</strong> Monitor and track government grants funding Anduril’s capital projects to ensure compliance, accurate reporting, and timely disbursement.</li> <li><strong>Software Capitalization:</strong> Oversee and execute capitalization of software assets in alignment with applicable accounting standards (ASC 350).</li> <li><strong>Financial Close: </strong>Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for long-lived asset accounts, delivering journal entries, accruals, and flux analysis on the close calendar.</li> <li><strong>Reporting &amp; Disclosures: </strong>Own the fixed asset, lease, and intangible asset footnotes, disclosures, and supporting schedules for financial reporting.</li> <li><strong>Reconciliations: </strong>Review balance sheet reconciliations for long-lived asset accounts on a timely basis, and research and resolve variances as needed.</li> <li><strong>Systems &amp; Process Improvement: </strong>Help implement new systems or improve efficiencies with current systems to support continued company and team growth.</li> <li style="font-weight: bold;"><strong>SOX Readiness: Help build and maintain SOX-ready process documentation and key controls over fixed assets, leases, and intangibles in support of public company readiness.</strong></li> <li><strong>Audit Support: </strong>Serve as the primary owner of external audit requests covering long-lived assets, including PBC schedules, walkthroughs, and technical accounting memos.</li> <li><strong>Cross-Functional Partnership:</strong> Partner with FP&amp;A, Procurement, Facilities and Real Estate, and Tax on capital planning, lease commitments, asset tracking, and book-to-tax depreciation differences.</li> <li><strong>Mindset: </strong>No job too small mentality, be curious and helpful to others.</li> </ul> <h4>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li><strong>Fixed Assets &amp; CIP:</strong> Experience managing or overseeing fixed assets and Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) is required.</li> <li><strong>Education: </strong>Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct people management experience.</li> <li><strong>Technical Accounting:</strong> Working knowledge of the long-lived asset standards — ASC 360 (property, plant and equipment; impairment), ASC 842 (leases), and ASC 350 (intangibles and internal-use software).</li> <li><strong>Systems &amp; Rigor: </strong>Highly detail-oriented with strong experience in Excel, ERP systems, and US GAAP.</li> <li><strong>Prioritization:</strong> Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-growth organization.</li> <li><strong>Execution &amp; Strategic Vision: </strong>Able to get your hands dirty to drive organizational change while also maintaining an ability to manage against strategic priorities and reporting.</li> <li><strong>Eligibility: </strong>Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.</li> <li>Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities</li> </ul> <h4>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</h4> <ul> <li><strong>Education &amp; Certifications:</strong> CPA (active or inactive) and/or MBA.</li> <li><strong>Industry Background: </strong>Prior experience in companies in tech or advanced manufacturing.</li> <li><strong>Accounting Mix: </strong>Healthy mix of technical accounting and operational accounting.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">US Salary Range</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$112,000</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$149,000 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p><span data-contrast="auto">The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
