If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.</p></div><p>Vast is looking for a(n) <strong>Logistics Specialist II</strong>, reporting to the<strong> Manager, Logistics </strong>to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.</p> <p>This will be a <strong>full-time</strong>, <strong>non-exempt </strong>position located in our <strong>Long Beach</strong> location. </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of aerospace parts, assemblies, tooling, equipment, and marketing materials.</li> <li>Schedule domestic and international freight with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.</li> <li>Package, palletize, label and prepare shipments for various methods of transportation.</li> <li>Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and certificates of origin.</li> <li>Ensure shipments comply with ITAR, EAR, FAA, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations.</li> <li>Track shipments and communicate delivery status while resolving transportation issues as they arise.</li> <li>Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and transportation records to support reporting and audits.</li> <li>Support manufacturing schedules by ensuring materials are received and delivered on time.</li> <li>Partner with Purchasing, Production, Quality, Engineering, and other internal teams to coordinate material movement and support customer delivery requirements.</li> <li>Assist with freight cost tracking and identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency.</li> <li>Coordinate receiving activities by verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and packing documentation.</li> <li>Process inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records within ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor).</li> <li>Deliveries: Utilize company vehicle to make deliveries and pick up materials from local suppliers.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>HighSchool or equivalent diploma</li> <li>2+ years of logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing.</li> <li>Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures.</li> <li>Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).</li> <li>Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Skills &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).</li> <li>Hazardous materials shipping certification (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG).</li> <li>Experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing.</li> <li>Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR export compliance.</li> <li>APICS (ASCM) or CSCMP certification.</li> <li>Import/Export experience with ITAR and C-TPAT regulations.</li> <li>Import/Export regulatory functions experience, including HTS, Schedule B knowledge, Incoterms, ISF filing process, DSP-5, DSP-73, ATA Carnet</li> <li>Experience working with NVOs, ocean carriers, drayage companies, freight forwarders, and customs house brokerage firms.</li> <li>Familiar with FAR Part 45 and handling of Government Furnished Materials</li> <li>Experience using barcode scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory control software.</li> <li>Experience operating forklifts, Stand-Up Reach, pallet jack and all associated dock equipment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to travel up to 15-20% of the time.</li> <li>Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones.</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted.</li> <li>Specific certifications, as appropriate.</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range: California</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$21</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$33 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p style="line-height: 1;"><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS<br></strong><br>Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
