If you want to work with the most talented people on Earth furthering space exploration for humanity, come join us.</p></div><p>Vast is looking for a <strong>Security Officer I</strong>, reporting to the <strong>Senior Supervisor, Security</strong> to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.</p> <p>This will be a full-time, <strong>non-exempt</strong> position located in our <strong>Long Beach</strong> location.</p> <ul> <li>Weekday Shifts: Monday-Friday: 7am-3pm, 3:00pm-11pm, 11pm-7am</li> <li>Weekend Shifts: Saturday &amp; Sunday: 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am</li> </ul> <p><strong>Responsibilities: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Verify the identity and point of contact of all visitors, ensuring compliance with facility access procedures. </li> <li>Issue and manage visitor and temporary employee badges, ensuring only authorized individuals enter designated areas. </li> <li>Conduct routine patrols of all buildings, perimeter areas, and critical infrastructure to detect and deter unauthorized activity. </li> <li>Observe, document, and report any suspicious behavior, security violations, or safety concerns to security management. </li> <li>Escort vendors and contractors as required, ensuring compliance with facility security protocols. </li> <li>Provide security assistance to other departments as needed, including support for special events or operational activities. </li> <li>Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports, shift logs, and security documentation. </li> <li>Respond professionally to security-related inquiries, safety concerns, and emergency situations in accordance with company policies. </li> <li>Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall security mission. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li> <li>Valid California BSIS Guard Card or ability to obtain before employment. </li> <li>Two or more years of experience in security operations, preferably in an industrial, aerospace, or manufacturing environment. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Skills &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.</li> <li>Ability to de-escalate situations verbally and maintain composure under pressure.</li> <li>Prior BSIS or equivalent security training, such as de-escalation tactics, report writing, or defensive tactics. </li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise incident reports. </li> <li>Ability to work independently while following security procedures and protocols.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be available to work all required shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs. </li> <li>Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods across various terrains. </li> <li>Must be able to work in various climate conditions, including heat, wind, and cold. </li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="title">Pay Range: California</div><div class="pay-range"><span>$20</span><span class="divider">&mdash;</span><span>$23 USD</span></div></div></div><div class="content-conclusion"><p style="line-height: 1;"><strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS<br></strong><br>Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
